Laura and Jeff Liebel - Strategy, Marketing & Instruction
of the best “teacher of teachers” in the east as she has melded her degree in Education
and corporate training background with her passion for helping people to have
exceptional experiences in the outdoors. Spring, summer and fall you will find her on
the water and when it all turns white, she will be teaching skiing on the slopes. Laura
will be helping the friends of Colden Canoe and the single blade Fire series boats to get
the most from their experiences through running clinics, leading outings and organizing
gatherings of like minded paddlers. Her boat of choice – Wildfire. Oh yes, she is also a
web site wizard and will be keeping our site fresh, informative and up to date.
Jeff is an outdoor addict with a strong penchant for paddling, but his day job is as a
managing partner of Counterpoint Consulting, a business consultancy of national scope.
He is an ACA Instructor Trainer in Touring Canoe, and Instructor in Freestyle and
Kayak, Canoe Camping and is New York State Licensed Guide. He strongly believes in
the power of paddling to strengthen the bonds of family and friends and on a larger
scale to improve the fortunes of towns and communities that have paddle friendly
water. To that end, he sits on the board of directors of the Northern Forest Canoe Trail
and is also a past board member and president and of the American Canoe Association.
Jeff will be bringing his blend of business and paddling enthusiasm to help make the
Colden Canoe experience a valuable one by keeping me (Paul) sane and focused. His
boat of choice - Starfire.
Colden Canoe is proud to have an alliance with WEKANU and to have Laura and Jeff as
involved and knowledgeable confidants.

- Laura is the founder of the WEKANU Paddling
School and is an ACA Instructor Trainer for both
